CRAIG
I was born in DC and grew up in Palm Harbor Florida. We were mostly a dog family but I also remember having fish, a turtle and eventually a python that I found and captured in my yard of all places. After high school, my snake Moe and I moved to Orlando where I worked at the Airport and started college. During this time I traveled often and that's when I met Allison who was living in Georgia. She quickly swept me off of my feet I relocated to Athens, GA where I managed a health food store. After a chance encounter with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Commissioner he convinced me to take a Naturalist position at Amicalola Falls State Park. That was a great job. I hiked the Application trail each day to get to work. I had lots of fun learning and teaching with various guests from all over the world. I eventually went back to school and then began working as a field instructor helping Adjudicated and at-risk youth. We would work 8 days in the back country with 6 days off. It was a very dynamic and rewarding work environment. During that time I've logged over 1000 days of living out of a backpack in the backcountry of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In 2009 when the economy tanked Allison and I were doing some consulting for a therapeutic boarding school in the South Pacific. Luckily we still had our home and our previous jobs waiting for us back here in GA. Thats when we started exploring the world of professional pet sitting and quickly fell in love. Most folks don't realize just how dynamic and demanding this job is but the rewards are boundless. I love animals and everyday I'm grateful that so many people allow us to care for theirs. Our pets provide us with so much and its an honor to in turn care for them while their families are away.
